#21: Pause With HAWS

 

Time spent with animals is proven stress relief. Just ask our friends at Eaton, who have hosted “Pause with HAWS” events annually for many years! These hands-on encounters with HAWS’ Outreach team and adoptable pets boost employee morale and wellness, increase employee engagement and bring enjoyment to the office.

“Pause with HAWS” is a visit to your business, to deliver stress relief in the form of snuggles and belly rubs. While providing that stress-relieving break, employees also learn about HAWS’ services and programs.

These visits also help to raise funds in support of HAWS’ mission, with several options available:

  • Pay Per Pet: Employees or employer donate a certain dollar amount for time spent with the animals.
  • Employer Match: Employees give with the employer matching their donations.
  • Employer Donation: Employer donates to HAWS on behalf of the employees.

Typically, a corporate event will yield more than $1,000 in gifts for HAWS!

Interested? Start by reaching out to katiej@3.230.216.177. Assign a contact person to be our liaison before and during the event. Choose a weekday that will maximize employee engagement. Market the event to your employees—encourage participation through custom donation links! Designate a spot for the HAWS team to set up—either outdoors or in a large conference room (open spaces are best).

On the chosen day/time, HAWS’ team will arrive with adoptable animals for employees to interact with, provide information on shelter services and programming, and ways to grow a humane community.

We promise we will clean any messes made by our animals (or humans)! But we won’t apologize for leaving a pet behind with one of your employees as their newly adopted family member.
